The Bean

If you’re looking for a coffee shop to hang out with friends or spend the day doing work, this is definitely somewhere you can go. One thing to note –you can only get two hours of wifi from a code on your receipt. After that, you’ll either need to buy something else for a new receipt code or use your data/hotspot.

Aside from the typical lattes, americanos, and cappuccinos (which are all really good!), The Bean offers some unique coffees. One of my favorites is the ‘nutElla Fitzgerald,’ which is a mix of espresso, nutella, and milk. It’s been so sunny and warm in the city recently, so I’ve been getting it frozen — I highly recommend that this summer — but they can also make it hot.

If that doesn’t excite you, don’t worry because there are plenty of other choices. The Bean makes organic juices, protein smoothies, and even coffee smoothies.

I haven’t had many of these, as I’m a fiend for chocolate and always get the nutella drink. But there was this one day when I was in the mood to be healthy, so I tried the ‘Brain Booster’ organic smoothie (strawberry, blueberry, banana, chia seeds, goji berries, and organic pressed apple juice) and my friend got the ‘Kale Smoothie.’ We both loved them – they were so fresh and filling. It’s a pretty big serving, which makes up for its $12 price.

There are a lot of food options at The Bean.

I like to come here for an everything bagel the morning after a late night out. They are always seasoned and toasted to perfection, with just the right amount of cream cheese.

They have a great selection of snacks, including banana bread, muffins, lemon bars, and croissants. For real food, they have a delicious egg and cheese ‘Breakfast Burrito’ that I’ve devoured a couple times on my walk to class!

But my all-time favorite thing to get from The Bean is an acai bowl. I don’t eat many fruits, so ‘The Perch’ and ‘The Bridge’ bowls are great ways to get some bananas, strawberries, cherries, and other fruits.
